Little know fact, Debbie Wasserman Shultz was in charge of the DK5 redesign. The reason the first debate was held in October is that DWS was too busy working on debugging the “new comment” popups so that they blocked important content.
I don’t have to explain how DWS ended up in charge of redesigning the site, nor do I need to explain to you what her motivations would be in making these changes. If you don’t implicitly understand the implications then you’re obviously not progressive enough. You can read more in Bob Johnson's excellent diary.
Suffice it to say, if there’s anything you do like about the new design, that’s definitely not because of DWS, but rather because of progressive grassroots activism the likes of which we haven’t seen since the days of FDR.
If the DNC can’t get its act together and fix the design of DKos then the Democrats are going to lose huge in 2016! Don’t say you haven’t been warned.
